Glacier Lagoon Kayaking in Iceland
Glacier kayaking in Iceland (in the Heinaberg glacier lagoon) is a unique and unforgettable experience. The lagoon is located in the Vatnajökull National Park, with panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding mountains and glaciers. Also included in the tour is a short glacier hike in this magical area.
Glacier Lagoon Kayaking in Iceland
Meet up with your fellow tour-goers and guide 38 km west of Höfn at a place called Flatey. There, you will receive all necessary kayak equipment, such as drysuits, safety vests, gloves, etc. before starting your tour.
Heinabergslón is a secluded area, so the only ones there will be your group of maximum 16 people and your professional guide. Get up close and personal with the icebergs as you paddle in peace beneath the majestic glaciers and summit of the mighty Vatnajökull National park.
The tour is led by professional guides with great kayaking skills and a vast knowledge of the area and its history. It suits kayakers with no paddling experience and experienced paddlers alike. The kayaks are very stable and are suitable for people who are new to kayaking.
Children between the ages 14-16 must always ride with an adult, otherwise you are welcome to choose between a single or a two-person kayak. Although the tour is suitable for absolute beginners, a reasonable level of fitness is required.
The guides expect you to come prepared, so we ask you to please bring good thermal clothing to wear underneath the drysuit, as well as good hiking shoes. Also, recommended are fleece jackets, fleece or soft shell trousers and warm socks. If the sun is out, sunglasses are a must!
This kayaking tour is operated by one of our reliable partners.
