The Booking Process
icelandunlimited.is is the online booking site and trading name of Iceland Unlimited Travel Services ehf. Our head office is located at Suðurlandsbraut 34, 108 Reykjavík, Iceland.
These booking conditions govern all bookings with icelandunlimited.is. Any booking or order placed by you, whether through the company's website or otherwise, shall be deemed as an offer by you to purchase the relevant package or other travel arrangements subject to these booking conditions. No contract between you and Iceland Unlimited shall come into existence until Iceland Unlimited accepts the first confirmation deposit and acknowledges confirmation of the successfully processed transaction.
The person who makes the booking accepts these conditions on behalf of all members of the party and is responsible for all payments due from the party. Booking services with Iceland Unlimited are currently only available to clients 18 years of age, or older. By submitting a booking, you warrant and confirm that you comply with these arrangements.
Payment Terms
All tours require a deposit at booking and final payment before arrival. Payment schedules vary by tour type:
Iceland Tours - Individual
Deposit Required: 20%
Final Payment Due: 30 days before arrival
Applies To: Individual bookings (1-2 rooms)
Iceland Tours - Groups
Deposit Required: 20%
Final Payment Due: 30 days before arrival
Applies To: Bookings of 3+ rooms
International Packages
Deposit Required: 30%
Final Payment Due: 6 weeks (42 days) before arrival
Applies To: Greenland, Faroe Islands, or tours including domestic flights
Solar Eclipse 2026
Deposit Required: 30%
Final Payment Due: 8 weeks (56 days) before arrival
Applies To: Tours during August 8-15, 2026
Day Tours
Deposit Required: 100%
Final Payment Due: At time of booking
Applies To: All day tours and activities
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept payments via Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, JCB, Discover, UnionPay, and Diners. If you wish to proceed with payment via electronic bank transfer instead, please communicate your preference to your assigned travel consultant.
Late Payment
In the case of delayed payment, Iceland Unlimited reserves the right to treat this as a cancellation and to withdraw its confirmation of the services.
Booking Confirmation
In the event that Iceland Unlimited is unable to obtain confirmation from the supplier or in case of a change in availability, a suitable alternative solution will be presented to the client. If the customer does not accept the proposed adjustments, or if Iceland Unlimited is not able to offer a plausible alternative, no charge will be made.
Pricing and Currency
All prices quoted by Iceland Unlimited are offered in our national currency, the Icelandic Króna. We invite you to visit the website of our National Bank to check the current exchange rate and convert the quoted amount to your local currency.
In the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or any such cost increase that is beyond Iceland Unlimited control, Iceland Unlimited is not to be held responsible for this type of variation. Iceland Unlimited reserves the right to notify you of any increase to prices already published in our price lists, brochures or website. Any eventual changes in rates will not be made without at least eight weeks' notice.
After the final invoice has been issued, the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless the increase is due to government laws or currency changes. Iceland Unlimited will absorb an amount equivalent to 5% of the package price. Amounts exceeding 5% will be charged, but should the surcharge exceed 10%, you will be entitled to cancel your booking with a full refund.
Cancellation Terms
All cancellations must be communicated in writing via email during business hours (Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Iceland time). Cancellation requests must be received during business hours to count toward the notice period.
Individual Customers (1-2 rooms only)
Applies to Iceland Tours only. Bookings of 3+ rooms are subject to Group terms below.
- More than 4 business days before arrival: 20% of total price held as travel credit + 80% refunded
- 3 to 2 business days before arrival: 50% of total price held as travel credit + 50% cancellation fee
- Less than 48 hours before arrival: 100% cancellation fee (no refund)
Groups (3+ rooms)
- 56 days or more before arrival: 20% of total price held as travel credit + 80% refunded
- 55 days to 11 days before arrival: 20% cancellation fee + 80% refunded
- 10 days to 4 business days before arrival: 75% cancellation fee + 25% refunded
- 3 business days or less before arrival: 100% cancellation fee (no refund)
Important: Cancellation by individual passenger(s) within a group may either result in a price increase for the remaining group or a cancellation fee being charged to the passenger(s) who cancelled.
International Packages (Greenland, Faroe Islands, Packages with Flights)
- More than 8 weeks before arrival: 30% cancellation fee + 70% refunded
- 3-8 weeks before arrival: 50% cancellation fee + 50% refunded
- Less than 3 weeks before arrival: 100% cancellation fee (no refund)
Solar Eclipse 2026 Tours (August 8-15, 2026)
- More than 56 days before arrival: 30% cancellation fee + 70% refunded
- Less than 56 days before arrival: 100% cancellation fee (no refund)
Weather Disclaimer: While we are all excited about the 2026 eclipse, the visibility of this extraordinary event is highly dependent on the weather conditions on the day. Given the unpredictable nature of Icelandic weather, we cannot guarantee that the eclipse will be visible.
Notice of Cancellation – Day Tours
Iceland Unlimited offers a variety of day tours and activities provided by our trusted partners. Cancellation terms and conditions vary depending on each tour operator. Your travel agent can advise you of the terms and conditions in case you need to cancel one of your confirmed activities.
Travel Credit Terms
When cancellation fees result in travel credit, the following terms apply:
How Travel Credit Works:
- Valid for 36 months from the cancellation date
- Can be used by you, friends, or family members
- Applies to any Iceland Unlimited destination (Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands)
- Must be booked through Iceland Unlimited
- Cannot be redeemed for cash
Using Your Credit: Contact your travel consultant and reference your original booking number to apply travel credit toward a new reservation.
Important: If you cancel a booking made with travel credit, standard cancellation fees apply to the new booking. No additional travel credit is issued for subsequent cancellations.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all our clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance as the best protection for your trip. Travel insurance can cover cancellation fees, medical expenses, lost luggage, and other unforeseen circumstances.
Modification and Amendment Fees
Iceland Tours (1-2 rooms)
More than 4 weeks before arrival:
- No modification fee for passenger name changes or minor itinerary adjustments
Less than 4 weeks before arrival:
- 50 000 ISK modification fee plus any additional costs from suppliers
International Packages (Greenland, Faroe Islands, Packages Including Flights)
- 50 000 ISK modification fee applies at all times, plus any additional supplier charges
Please note: Substantial changes to the itinerary (such as adding or removing multiple days, changing regions, or booking additional tours) may require rebooking and will be subject to availability and current pricing.
Special Offers – Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to all Special Offers on icelandunlimited.is in conjunction with our standard booking terms for all Iceland Unlimited holiday packages:
- For new bookings only
- Not valid in combination with any other discounts, promotions or commissionable prices
- Discount will be deducted from the total price at the time of booking
Travel Documents and Vouchers
Travel documents and vouchers will be delivered to you electronically or in physical format upon arrival.
Liability and Force Majeure
Iceland Unlimited acts in good faith and disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness or schedule change due to weather, strike, pandemic or any other cause beyond Iceland Unlimited's control. We cannot be held responsible for any agent, hotel, coach operator, airline, guide, restaurant or any other person's or company's acts, defaults or delays.
Changes to Itinerary
Iceland Unlimited reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times without prior notice should the necessity arise, as your safety is our utmost priority. In the case of any changes to flights (domestic and international), the passenger is responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of such changes (including additional hotel nights, meals, transfers, etc.).
Travel Insurance Recommendation
For any unforeseen delay, loss or other mishaps, we advise all travelers to have comprehensive travel insurance to meet all contingencies and cover any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness or schedule change beyond our responsibility.
Complaints and Feedback
Our goal is to provide excellent customer service and we maintain strict quality monitoring. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your holiday package, we want to hear about it. We recommend that you contact us as soon as any incident arises. If you are unable to do so at the time, you must advise Iceland Unlimited in writing within 7 days of your return. If you fail to do so, this may jeopardize your right to compensation.
Website Information
All information on the website is subject to change. Iceland Unlimited reserves the right to alter, change, or correct mistakes that may possibly appear on the website or published prices.
Lost Luggage
Iceland Unlimited is not responsible for lost items and is unable to assist during the process of tracking and retrieving missing luggage. We recommend our guests purchase travel insurance to protect their belongings and their travel investment.
For speedy assistance in case of lost luggage, we strongly recommend contacting your airline. The overview of Lost and Found service at Keflavík International Airport can be found on the airport's website.
Rental Car Terms
For all our self-drive tours that include a rental vehicle, please note the following:
Age Restrictions and Driving License Requirements
Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Full-Size
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- License Held For: At least 1 year
SUV Economy, Compact, Intermediate
- Minimum Age: 25 years
- License Held For: At least 2 years
SUV Full Size, Premium, Luxury
- Minimum Age: 25 years
- License Held For: At least 3 years
Driving License Requirements
The renter and each additional driver must present a full valid driving license held for the minimum period specified above. If the renter's national driving license is not printed in Roman script (such as Arabic, Greek, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc.) an International Driving Permit (IDP) or International Driving License (IDL) is required. A valid passport is also required at the time of pick-up.
Credit Card Requirement
A credit card in the renter's name is required as a guarantee at the time of pick-up.
Rental Agreement
When retrieving the rental vehicle, the traveler will be signing a direct contract with our rental car partner. The contract stands as a legal agreement between the traveler and the rental car partner. Please read the document completely and thoroughly before signing it.
VISAS and Travel Documents
Iceland Unlimited assists with all land arrangements in Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands however, we are not responsible for visa applications. The main purpose of our travel agency is to help travelers plan their trips and offer services like booking flights, hotels, and tours. The procedure for applying for visas or the power of immigration officials to make decisions, however, is not under our control.
It is the travelers' responsibility to secure a visa and/or consult a visa service sufficiently in advance of their trip to allow them to secure the necessary documentation in advance of their travel dates.
VAT
VAT is included in all the prices quoted.
Applicable Law
By using Iceland Unlimited Travel Service, you accept that this agreement shall be governed, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Iceland.
