About this activity

Feel the Rush of Snowmobiling Across Glaciers

On the way to the glacier Langjokull, you will cross Iceland’s uninhabited highland wilderness. Drive through a wild and remote stone desert in the direction of the glacier Langjökull. Once at the edge of the glacier you will switch to a modified monster truck that brings you (almost) onto the top of the glacier. Enjoy the breathtaking view and the endless ice around you.

The man-made ice tunnel is located 1,260 meters (4,134 feet) above sea level and goes 500 meters (1,640 feet) deep into the ice. Follow the cave through the illuminated interior of the glacier, viewing ice formations, smaller caverns, and beautiful blue glacial walls.

During the tour, you will see indescribable colors of blue and you will learn more about the frozen heart of a glacier.

During winter the tour departs from the Húsafell geothermal swimming pool in the West of Iceland. During summer the tour starts from Klaki base camp by the glacier edge (the road is accessible only for 4x4 cars). If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle, then we recommend taking the shuttle service from Húsafell for a small extra fee.

Please include the tour code (IC-04). This glacier tour is operated by one of our reliable partners.
