About your day

Today your Ilulissat winter adventure begins! In the morning you will board your flight to Greenland from Reykjavík Domestic Airport. As you approach Ilulissat you will have an amazing view of the town, covered in white snow and ice as far as the eye can see. Upon landing you will be met by a hotel representative who will transfer you to your accommodations in Ilulissat. Afterwards you can enjoy some free time in the town. You can also choose to go on an optional activity such as a walk to the Sermermiut settlement. Here, different Inuit cultures lived for 4,000 years. During the tour you will learn more about the way of life of these original inhabitants and enjoy views to the icebergs. In the evening you will have a welcome dinner before staying overnight in this winter wonderland.

About your day

Today you will have a full free day to enjoy Ilulissat. We highly recommend that you book some optional activities to get the most out of your holiday. A popular option are the dogsledding tours. These can be arranged with advance notice and you can choose from either a 2 hour to tour or a 5 hour tour. The dog sledge is one of the strongest icons of Inuit tradition in Greenland and we highly recommend this activity. Other options include snowmobile tours, snowshoe hiking and more. Your Iceland Unlimited contact person can assist you with booking the perfect activity for you. You will stay a second night in the same accommodation as the night before.
