About your day

This accessible day tour gives you the option to visit some of the best sites in Iceland. In the morning, your private guide picks you up from your hotel or cruise ship in Reykjavik and you start your day by driving to Þingvellir National Park. Þingvellir, famous for its beauty and geological and historical value, was accepted as UNESCO’s heritage site in 2004. The paths in the park are very good and your private guide shows you the most beautiful places in the park. Next up is the geothermal area beside the Hvítá River in the southwest part of the country. There you will find Strokkur (Icelandic for "churn") which is a fountain geyser. It is Iceland's most impressive and famous geyser, erupting about every 4–8 minutes, sometimes up to 40 meters high. A spectacle not to be missed! The geyser is easily reachable in a wheelchair. Next to the geyser is also an accessible restaurant where we recommend to stop for lunch (not included). After enjoying lunch you drive to Gullfoss, the "Golden Waterfall". Wheelchair visitors can have a very good view of the waterfall from the parking place and there is also an accessible viewing platform available to view the waterfall from above. On the way back to Reykjavík you visit Kerið, one of the oldest volcano craters in the area. Tour duration: ~ 8 hours
