Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik

About your day

Welcome to Iceland! You will be transferred to your accommodation in central Reykjavík. During the day we recommend to explore the center of Reykjavík. If you arrive early you can join a guided city walk to get an informative overview of the capital of Iceland. Nature lovers can join a whale watching tour from the old harbour and during summer it is also possible to visit a small island by boat where hundreds of puffins nest. The city center of Reykjavík is small enough to reach (almost) everything by foot. We recommend visiting the church tower of the big Hallgrímskirkja Church. From the top, you have a wonderful view over the whole city, you will see the mountains and the ocean as well. During summer you can enjoy the long daylight and from mid of September to mid of April you have the chance to see the magical Northern Lights.

Day 2: Visit a Lava Cave and Snorkel in Between Tectonic Plates

About your day

Today you will have an early rising as you are going to experience an adventurous combo-tour we call “Black and Blue”. You will be picked up at your accommodation by your guide. The tour starts with the “Black” by visiting the hidden world below one of Iceland´s many lava fields. Your guide will explore with you a lava tube and you will walk and climb through space where lava once flowed. You will see different interesting forms of lava stalactites and different rock formations in the cave. Your guide will explain how these lava caves were formed during a volcanic eruption. Please note that you have to be reasonably fit to participate in this tour. In fact, in some places, you even need to crawl. After the caving exploration, you have time to grab lunch before moving on into the “Blue” for the second adventure of the day. You will snorkel in one of the clearest fissures found all around the world – the amazing Silfra fissure. The Silfra fissure is located in Þingvellir National Park that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you will snorkel in crystal clear water with up to 100 meters of visibility. This snorkel tour does not require any experience and is perfect for beginners. You will float on top of the water and it is very easy to slowly move in the water in the dry suit. After this amazing combo tour you will return back to the city where you can end the day by dining in one of the numerous gourmet restaurants in the evening. We can give you our recommendations and reserve a table for you. One of our favourite places in town is Bryggjan Brugghús. Duration: ~ 9 hours

Day 3: The Golden Circle by Super Jeep

About your day

After an adventurous day yesterday, you will now experience touring in one of the world-known modified super jeeps that Icelanders have been building for a number of years. You will see all the highlights that are known under the name “The Golden Circle”. First, you will drive past Nesjavellir Geothermal plant that transfers hot geothermal water from the earth to the whole “greater Reykjavik area”. Next stop is Þingvellir National Park; the first known parliament in the world was founded on this very spot. After visiting Þingvellir you will head on to the Geysir area, to witness the eruption of this spouting spring. Very close to Geysir, you will visit Gullfoss waterfall. At this time you must be hungry so we recommend the awesome lamb meat soup at the café. Before going back to Reykjavik you will leave the normal streets and head to the glacier Langjökull. After exploring the scenery around the glacier you will return to the city. Duration: ~ 10 hours

Day 4: Taking a Chill Pill

About your day

Today is a free day. Sleep in, enjoy an amazing brunch, do some sightseeing in the city or take an optional day tour from Reykjavík. Shopping around is also a good idea. All the main shops are located in a relatively small down town area along the main shopping street 'Laugavegur'. In the afternoon you can visit one of the museums of Reykjavík. Despite its remote location as the northernmost capital in Europe, Reykjavik manages to be quite a cosmopolitan city. Those looking for art, culture, design and history will find it here at one of the city’s museums. Highlights of the day: Reykjavík, museums, shopping on Laugavegur, and more
