Welcome to Iceland. We are happy that you choose to spend your Honeymoon in Iceland! Upon arrival, you will be transferred from Keflavik Airport to the amazing Blue Lagoon Spa. After soaking in the milky blue waters of the lagoon, continue to your hotel in Reykjavík. Enjoy the afternoon/evening exploring the city and dining at one of Reykjavik’s gourmet restaurants. Stay overnight in the heart of Reykjavík.

Today you‘ll receive your rental car and your honeymoon in Iceland begins! Travel to the powerful and mysterious Snæfellsnes Peninsula. There you will find Snæfellsjökull glacier, located in one of four national parks in Iceland. This is the perfect location for nature lovers. You’ll find yourself surrounded with amazing birdlife, lush green valleys and rugged lava fields. Available activities in Snæfellsnes are for example horseback riding tours, boat tours and walks along the beach, as well as bird watching and if you’re lucky, you might spot some seals by the coastline under Snæfelsjökull glacier. Spend the first half of the day exploring Snæfelljsökull National Park and all it has to offer before heading towards the valley of Skagafjörður in North West Iceland. Skagafjörður is known as ‘The Mecca of the Icelandic Horse’ and is an ideal place to try riding the friendly local breed. You can take a dip in the hot pool Grettislaug at Reykjanesströnd beach where Grettir the Strong, one of Iceland’s most notorious outlaws, in the Saga Age bathed after swimming from Drangey shortly after 1000 AD. In the evening, we recommend watching the midnight sunset. Stay the night in the Skagafjörður area.

Day 4: Akureyri, Lake Myvatn and Nature Bath

Drive to Akureyri, the friendly ‘capital of north Iceland’ situated in Eyjafjörður. Explore this charming town where you’ll find museums, cafés and a wonderful geothermal water park in the middle of town. Continue east but don’t forget to stop by Goðafoss (the waterfall of the Gods) on your way to the enchanting Lake Mývatn. The Lake is beautifully located in an area of surreal landscape, bubbling hot springs, moon- like pseudo craters and hot pools. Sights include the sizzling mud-pots at Námafjall, the pseudo craters at Skútustaðir, the lava maze Dimmuborgir and the Krafla volcanic area, to name a few. End the day by relaxing in the Mývatn Nature Baths and enjoy soaking in this wonderful pool of geothermal water, drawn from depths of up to 2,500 meters. Stay the night in the Lake Mývatn area

Mývatn offer excellent hiking opportunities as well as other optional activities. Visit Húsavík where in summer you can go on a unique boat tour on an old schooner combining whale watching, puffin watching and a great sailing adventure. Your honeymoon Iceland adventure continues and today your travel from Mývatn to Egilsstaðir through the moonscape area of Möðrudalsöræfi. Stop for lunch in the peaceful village of Egilsstaðir. You might want to visit Seyðisfjörður and visit the romantic blue church in the center of town. Drive through the magnificent eastern fjords towards Berufjörður. Each Fjord is unique, and you will find many small fishing villages with friendly people in picturesque settings; sights include Mt. Búlandstindur and the monster-habitat Lagarfljót River. Stay the night in the charming seaside- village of Djúpivogur.

Head south to the picturesque Glacial Lagoon Jökulsárlón, where we highly recommend to join an amazing boat ride between the icebergs floating on the lake (only available from May-mid October). Continue to Skaftafell Park, a part of Vatnajökull National Park, the largest National Park in Europe. Spend the rest of the day exploring some of the wonders of Skaftafell situated by the roots of the Vatnajökull Glacier. There are many interesting hiking trails in Skaftafell, including one to the waterfall Svartifoss, which drops from the edge of a wide cliff of basalt columns. Visit Svínafellsjökull glacier fall where the opening scene of the Hollywood blockbuster movie, Batman Begins was filmed. Stay the night in Skaftafell/ Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Drive via the beautiful south coast west towards Reykjavik. Take a look at the spectacular black sands of Reynisfjara beach and Reynisdrangar rock formations in the ocean close to the village of Vík. Close by is Mýrdalsjökull glacier that dominates the scenery. There you will have the opportunity to experience a guided glacial hike. You can also try your riding skills on the Icelandic horses from one of many horse rentals in the area. These activities are not included in the tour price but can be added on request. Visit the stunning and picture perfect Skógafoss waterfall and the graceful Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can experience walking right behind the flowing water, feeling the light drizzle.
